The Warranted Lock
The 19th century "commercial" lock mentioned elsewhere, but this model has been set up for the popular drum and nipple system of ignition. These locks were used on fine guns as well as "hardware" pieces and were usually marked WARRANTED near the bottom center of the plate. Over the word was many times stamped the gunmaker's name or even the gun's retailer. Some were engraved or stamped with a hunting scene. We have left this area to your discretion.
